Welcome to my website!

After over thirty years working in the educational field, I have  finally been able to fulfill a long-delayed passion–writing!

Besides spending time with my family and friends,  I love singing along to Broadway musicals, getting lost on well-marked trails in national parks, swimming in heated pools, reading and discussing books, baking challah and “Marilyn’s World Famous chocolate chip cookies,” eating vanilla ice cream, traveling, and spending time with my family! Since retiring and relcating from Saratoga County, New York,  to Central Florida, I am now happily writing down family stories I have composed in my head or written in my journals during my entire life. Since 2016, I have had the privilege of sharing accounts of ordinary people with extraordinary lives: Holocaust survivors, a World War II POW, Righteous Gentiles, a Titanic fanatic,  a sister who was the number one advocate for her intellectually challenged sibling, and a mother who has raised thousands of dollars in memory of her daughter, who died too young of cancer.

Thanks for reading my blog posts! I’d love to hear from you! You can comment after each article or reach out to me at shapcomp18@me.com.

My favorite: Spending time with my family!

I’ve enjoyed you column in the Jewish World for some time. I’m a dentist in Corinth but live on Lake George & upstate in Chesterfield, just N of Keeseville, part of your heritage. We enjoy Ausable Pt. State Park in the summer, sail boarding on Lake Champlain.

Being the cat lover, that you know me to be, I loved this story. I’m happy that Corny had a few happy moments in his brief life. But the fact that there are so many “ kill” shelters to deal with so many unwanted animals is so sad.
